Thanksgiving Turkeys & Direct-to-Consumer Relationships at Open Book Farm

Since 2011, Andrew and MK Barnet have been raising animals on pasture -- broilers, layers, turkeys, pigs, beef cattle -- and vegetables in synthesis for healthy soils providing affordable, clean and delicious food through Open Book Farm. 

Join us in Middletown, Maryland to hear how these farmers are managing their animals, rotations, and diversified sales channels. With Thanksgiving approaching, we'll focus heavily on the details and logistics of turkey pre-sales & weight aligned with customers' fridge or freezer capabilities.

Bonus! During a locally-catered lunch, we'll hear from Erin Hyman of Red Plate Farm, who leases land on the property for her innovative, debit-style CSA - a model that offers the customer more choice in what they receive each week. She will share about her years of experience in farming for a full-diet CSA and decision-making as she builds Red Plate.
