Our members agree to the stated purposes of Future Harvest as follows: The organization has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including, but not limited to, the following:  (i) to advance sustainable food and farming systems in the Chesapeake region; (ii) provide educational and training programs for those interested in sustainable agriculture; (iii) establish a network of individuals and organizations involved with and interested in sustainable agriculture; (iv) initiate demonstration programs to highlight profitable and sustainable agricultural practices and farming systems; (v) conduct on-farm research; (vi) provide information to farmers about effective marketing and business strategies for sustainable crops, livestock and farm products; (vii) raise consumer awareness to step up demand for local, sustainably produced food and fiber; and (viii) encourage sound public policy concerning sustainable agriculture.
