Farm Details

Orun Field & Family Farm is a community demonstration farm providing transformational experiences in Upper Marlboro, MD, just 40 minutes outside of Washington DC. This 8 acre farm rests on land native to the Nacotchtank and Piscataway tribes.  We are a livable wage farm focused on veteran & community  support and workforce development. The farm partners with and hosts training programs, educational workshops, and community celebrations for a growing community of family & friends.

Breaking ground in 2021 as a collective community garden, Orun Field & Family Farm is a small-scale veteran family operation. We strive to produce the highest quality food while providing impactful targeted intergenerational, veteran and community programs. The farm produces an abundance of fresh & vibrant produce from spring/fall basilicas like kale, collards, leeks, & broccoli, to summer favorites:  cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, melons, peppers of many varieties, squash, sweet potatoes, eggplant, sunflowers and herbs. 

To do this the farm integrates practices of African Diasporic traditions, Afro-ecology, and sustainable agriculture to support self-sustaining  sur-thriving communities.
