Join us at Gathering Springs Farm to learn all about starting seeds! We'll be helping farmers Pam and Sarah start some of their seeds for summer harvest and learn about a method of moving tiny plants into bigger pots called "potting up". We'll also assist with some clean up projects and see a demo of their direct seeding tools - both the Jang and Earthway seeders. We'll also do a more general farm tour to learn all about how these awesome farmers got started and continue to grow!
Pam and Sarah were both working for Potomac Vegetable Farms, one of the oldest diversified vegetable growers in the Washington DC area, when the idea for Gathering Springs sprouted. They wanted to create a place where the food was the means to the end of meeting people, creating community, and sharing in good health.
