GARLIC HARVEST AND DRYING AT SNICKERS RUN FARM

Join Future Harvest in Bluemont. Virginia for a short course in garlic presented by Peter Durand, owner and operator of Snickers Run Farm, and hands-on experience harvesting and drying.

Using natural growing methods, the farm specializes in growing hard-neck garlic varieties such as their new, special “Bluemont Music,” German Extra Hardy, Chesnok Red, and Asian Tempest.

During this hands-on event, we will tour the farm and learn how Snickers Run uses crop rotation, companion planting, drip irrigation, and mechanical methods to manage weeds and pests sustainably. Then participants will have the opportunity to harvest, clip, and prep bulbs for drying in the barn.
