Broiler Chicken Production & Soil Health Management Plan

Join Future Harvest at Where Pigs Fly Farm for an in-depth field day on the inner mechanics of running a broiler chicken operation and how to institute a robust soil health management plan within this type of system.

In the first portion of the workshop, farm owners/operators Jennifer Vaccaro and Brian Knox will share the nuts and bolts of how they raise, process, and sell broiler chickens - sharing tricks of the trade & financial insights they have gained. During the second portion of the workshop, they will be accompanied by Lisa Garfield, Million Acre Challenge Director, to walk you through their newly developed soil health management plan. Over the past few months, Jennifer and Brian have been working with Lisa to create and trial a holistic soil health management plan for their diversified farm operation. This workshop will be the debut of this newly minted plan!

If you're interested in raising broiler chickens AND keeping up a good soil health regime, this is a workshop not to be missed.

We encourage participants to enroll their acres in the Million Acre Challenge, a region-wide regenerative agriculture initiative started by Future Harvest and partners. To learn more about the Million Acre Challenge, visit the website here and/or reach out to lisa@futureharvest.org.
