About Butterbee Farm
Laura Beth Resnick and her husband Jascha Owens are the owners and operators of Butterbee Farm, a cut flower farm that delivers flowers to Baltimore and D.C. areas and provide bulk flowers for events. Laura Beth teaches everything she's learned about flowers and small business, and consult with new growers on starting their farms.
In 2013, after apprenticing on vegetable farms for several years and Laura Beth was preparing to start her own farm. She attended a florist consultation in preparation for her sisters wedding and learned that 80% of blooms sold in the U.S. are shipped from overseas. The carbon footprint of the global floral industry is astronomical. This inspired Laura Beth to start growing flowers for local florists and so Butterbee Farm was formed. After leasing for a decade, in 2022, they bought land in Harford County, Maryland. They doubled our greenhouse space and their efforts to grow regeneratively.
Laura Beth and Jascha have been involved with Future Harvest in many capacities from being both trainees and trainers in the Beginner Farmer Training Program to attending and speaking at our Annual Conference and participating in the Pick Your Own Consultant program.
