Irrigation Basics at Communitas Farm

Communitas Farm is a one-acre vegetable and herb farm that follows organic and regenerative practices and is located in Hampstead, MD. They avoid using single-use plastic in the field and have a reverse-osmosis filtered water system for irrigation due to the high salt levels in their well water. Join farmer Shoshana to learn the basics of irrigation setup, and how their specific system works.

At this field day you will:
- Learn about the basics of irrigation, including the decisions that go into choosing the right system for you.
- Explore drip, wobbler, and sumisansui irrigation systems and hear about the benefits of each.
- Discuss grant funding for irrigation and how to best fund installation at a small scale.
- Get hands-on experience assembling part of a vegetable irrigation system.
